Neuroscience Research Assistant
Undergraduate

I chose a major in Neuroscience because I’m drawn towards understanding the variety in human experience and behavior. As I study neuroscience, I love learning about the chemistry, cellular mechanisms, and brain systems that make up our human experience. Every brain is different, and so are the individuals around us.

In the BYU BIB Lab, I enjoy engaging in research, learning how to use new computational tools, and learning how those tools can help us draw conclusions about how brain systems and anatomy can describe the human experience in ourselves and others. I joined this lab to expand my skill set, participate in neuroscience outside of the classroom, and gain experience in a research setting and see how it fits me. I’m hoping to use what I learn here in the future as I prepare for medical school and a future career.

When I can, I enjoy drawing and painting, playing instruments, writing, hiking, woodworking, exercising, and occasionally training in Brazilian jiu jitsu. I’m listening to music most waking hours, I speak a little Japanese, and I’m an amateur mycologist.
