Neuroscience Research Assistant
Undergraduate

I am a neuroscience major here at BYU. I started out as a psychology major. After taking the History of Psychology course from Dr. Cobia I saw that, historically, neuroscience and psychology were siblings. I had been planning to become a counselor of one form or another. After looking into mental health care, I decided to expand my future scope of practice. I wanted to be able to prescribe for mental health conditions as well. This led me to change my major to neuroscience and head in the direction of medical practice.

I wanted clinical hours and to experience working with psych patients myself. I started at the Utah State Hospital. I saw schizophrenia, dementia, and many other mental ailments in person. Wanting to learn more about these conditions, I decided to join the BIB Lab. I've always been deeply fascinated by the why's and how's of human behavior, and the BIB Lab is a way to answer some of those questions.

I grew up playing baseball and swimming. I enjoy weightlifting in my free time, hanging out with my best friend (my wife), reading, and watching movies. I'm planning now to attend PA school in 2025.
