Howard joined the BYU BIB Lab as part of his postdoc fellowship and for the opportunity to learn about neuroimaging. He previously earned his Master's and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from Adler University. His academic history also includes Community outreach, McNair Scholar (Notre Dame), Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND), Michigan Center for Urban African American Aging Research (MCUAAAR) (U. of Michigan), Center for Alzheimer’s, Aging and Community Health (COAACH) (North Carolina A&T), and Emory Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. Additionally, he started a 501C, Advocates for Community Wellness, that promotes Mental health and Alzheimer’s awareness in Chicago’s underserved communities.

Outside of academics, Dr. Howard enjoys bike riding as a hobby.
